The waves of you and I
The dream won’t forget
all that is meant to be commemorated
as dusk sleeps
the smile won’t disappear
when flocks of birds chase infinity
and dawn lays like a blanket
the sun will always remember
our friends upon the ground
to whom windowpanes bring laughter
and whispers sway
A time in the past
perhaps is gone
perhaps is remembered
like the light upon a flame
a spark of past desire
which finds smiles that remain
vivid in your heart
with feelings that run along
into the trellises of forever
that is nowhere near now
A life along the line
where longing lays like a quilt
covering your dreams
within itself
for durations that can’t be measured
In a breath
is the dream you found
in the wind that still blows
from days remembered as bliss
dissipated in time
that forever stays
long enough to save
your hope along the shore
where sands have never moved
awaiting your return
motionless—
like the island on the lake
whose sight you can not shake
but only remembered
when time lasted long enough
The wonders of time
only speak when you sleep
only shine when you dream
they run when you see
they fly with the eyes
who cover skies when you cry
sending tears upon the land
the tears of you and I
running like the clouds
rushing like the waves
the waves of you and I
Time we only thought
embracing our present sense
escaping memories of tomorrow
which fancies other realms
of what never was
but is, in place of truth
while clocks move on like rain
abiding in what is true
two worlds are calling my name
the worlds of me and you
What was and what could never be
melt into a moment
where tears have yet to fall
where thinking turns to air
where mirrors never seen before
reflect upon the soul
spelling dreams of autumn leaves
winters filled with snow
springs of open fields of green
warmth we wished to know
while knowing all exceeds our sense
and we just wish to feel
What was it you were trying to tell me?
I have yet to comprehend
your memories are barring me from new ones
and my present is also with you
What was the song you were singing
while never making a sound,
the question you posed
in a shattered glance?
I only remember what you showed me
I can’t recall a noise
coming from your flying lips
a message from your pulse
heard only by your heart
yet it shook me clear
and echoed within my soul
My sense and my heart
are a ways apart
and the ongoing rains
have flooded my longing
sinking my past days
to unknown depths
that are subtly illuminated
by tomorrows dawn
The beacons aim
weathered in a storm so cold
wishing for a sign
a sign to drift away
into those lands we knew
into the embrace so known
luminescent of love
I soar at the reflection of life
of all that faced a mirror
of the day that sleeps
for the long indigo night
where the tall chain-linked fence
is under a sky like oil
on life’s stage as such
alive in the same being
I am in now
A true scene it was
time doesn’t stand between us
everything is in the same moment as before
a long drawn out second of existence
only resting for dreams,
only knowing when we laugh,
only slowing down when we cry,
and only stopping that one night
when we ran on the beach
and the moon was red and large
accompanying the soul
over the water like ink
glowing with liquid stars
while we ran down the dunes
triumphant towards the streets
